tenth ocsspl season ready to launch!

 

The Ottawa Competitive Senior Slo Pitch League (OCSSPL) offers the highest level of slo pitch in Ottawa for men 60 years of age and older.  We play double headers every Thursday morning (10:00 am – 1:00pm) from May to September at Brewer and Carlington Parks.

We are committed to providing the best possible framework for senior men where slo pitch is played safely and at a high calibre while fostering sportsmanship, camaraderie, fun and fitness.

Good day fellas.

 

 

With our season wrapped up and the injuries finally starting to mend, the executive has begun planning for season 11 of the OCSSPL in 2026.

 

 

 

The past season had many highs and some lows and our focus next season will be to minimize or eliminate the bumps in the road that inevitably surface over the course of a year.

 

 

 

We’ll meet in November to review player rankings which have been completed by your captains and debate any suggested rule changes.

 

 

 

That’s where you come in.   Please send any suggestions you have for rule changes to ottawaseniorslopitch@gmail.com by Friday, October 24.  Already up for debate are, number of teams, playoff format, and use of pitching net.  This is your opportunity to affect any changes you feel necessary BUT proposing doesn’t mean implementing is guaranteed.

Congratulations to the Green Team on winning the Shawn Argue trophy as playoff champions.

 

Congratulations to the Red Team for finishing first in the  regular season.

 

 

Congratulations to the Teal team for wining the B division championship.

 

Wishing everyone a great off season and i hope to see you all back in 2026.

Championship games are set  in A Division and B Division – with Green hosting Red at Brewer and Purple home to Teal – at Carlington  next Thursday.

Green defeated a pesky Lime team 23 – 19 over two games while Purple managed a 24 – 14 win over Gold.  Black and Red played a dandy pair with the score tied after the first game.  Red stormed out in game two ending up with a 42-26 two game total.

Teal found its way to the B final with a 19 – 11 two game score over Blue in their semi.

Black takes on Lime at Brewer and Blue and Gold will battle it out at Carlington.

Former OCSSPL player and carded umpire, Bob Cotie will ump the Green – Red tilt.

Following the games, the season ending lunch and trophy presentations will take place at Hometown.  Please be sure to give your captain $10.00 for the meal.
